Question 1: Why did you join commonkind?

To help empower children and families to be compassionate and to help them find every advantage so that they can spread the same good in their local communities.

Question 2: What were you like as a child?

I was always curious, pulling things apart to see how they worked, much to my father’s dismay!

Question 3: What was your first volunteering experience?

I spent many years in the scouting movement and contributed lots of time to various fundraising activities for local charities.

Being part of the team that was able to donate such a significant amount to Women’s Legal Services that they were able to provide their much-needed services 7 days a week.

Question 5: What’s the very first job you had (that’s not on your LinkedIn profile) and what did you learn from the experience?

Socialising with friends, both in person and online for those friends that have moved too far away.

Question 7: What motivates you?

I love problem-solving. Finding new solutions gives me purpose. I also take great enjoyment in seeing things I have helped create be used by others.

Question 8: How do you practice self-compassion?

Let myself feel and go through emotions. Take the time to be mindful of what is happening. Take the time to do things that are enjoyable and fulfilling.

Question 9: If you could give children and young people one piece of advice, what would it be?

Always strive for the opportunity to be humble.
